This is one of the photos that I took late last night whilst waiting for the never appearing lunar eclipse. I set the camera up, pointing it at the road on its tripod and opened the shutter speed to thirty seconds. As the boat was not in, there were not that many cars and lorries going both ways, making the light trails quite weak.
I also like the burst effect of the lights as well
;-( Sorry . . . .
Yeah, was a shame. Stayed up later than normal trying to see it as well
Love your nighttime shots! 🙂
Thank you 🙂 I am starting to get to grips with them
Nice picture. I like shots of traffic at night, when the blurred lights look like beams of energy.
I want to be able to take some where there is no overhead lights 🙂
Thank you David
I LOVE when you do these types of photos. So cool on the light effects!
Thanks Rosy 🙂
Trying to figure out why this tugs at me, pulls me under the lamplight. Might be that it reminds me of the train tracks near Philly I knew 10 years in my college and working days. I like the shadings.
Thank you 🙂 I like the shine of the lamplights as well
Very nice picture, Alastair! It’s a brilliant gem!
Congratulations!
Thank you for sharing with us.
Have a quiet night, Alastair! 🙂
Thank you Stefania. I appreciate you coming by. Enjoy your evening
[ Smiles ] A lovely photograph of the street at night.
Thank you Renard 🙂
[ Smiles ] You are welcome, Al.
it seems so busy–yet there are no cars. I dig freeway shots for that. The stream-ee feel. 🙂
Yes, I like them. I want to be able to do one where I can leave the shutter open for longer without light pollution drowning everything
Beautiful!
Thank you Celestine 🙂
I like the view! Now I need some advice please. I have decided to spend some money on a new camera. I would like your advice on what kind. I look at so many cameras online but then I am not sure of what I actually need. I want to be able to take night time shots and I want to be able to do close ups with out blur. I am interested in a camera that will exchange lens. Can you advise? I am not by far well off financially but don’t want a cheap one that won’t work or last. I do love the macro lens.
Okay, the macro lens can be brought cheaply afterwards. filters that cost me £38 for 28 filters. That’s about $55 in your speak.
When I brought my camera, it was an entry level one. It comes with the body and an 18-55mm lens. I brought a 55-200mm and a 70-300mm/Macro lens separately. The one I brought was the Nikon D3000 which is a very good camera. I can only advise on the Nikon as that is the only one I have to compare it to.
I have just seen that it is $160 off at the moment at Amazon http://is.gd/SR82pQ or the D3100 is currently $103 off and that has video recording mode as well. http://is.gd/HRcyfS
You will need a memory card. I love my Nikon and when I do eventually upgrade, it will be to another Nikon 🙂 Hope that gives you a couple of ideas
