Photo Of The Week: Week One

Rather than doing the Photo of the Day as I have done for the last two years straight, I have decided that for 2014 I will be giving that a bit of a break and do a Photo of the Week instead. I will be posting this every Saturday. I will still be posting other photos though, but it means I don’t have to search every day for a particular photo.

This week, I went out taking photos of Light Trails with my son, and one of the photos stood out far more than the others. As we were on our way back, we stood just before a bend and set the camera up again to catch the trails going round the corner. I really like how this one came out.

Week 1

Happy Trails

I went with my son earlier to take some photos. Or rather I went out and he wanted to come with me. I wanted to take photos of light trails from cars but not from my balcony. I wanted to take them from street level. So we headed to the traffic lights at a main junction and I set up there. These are some of the photos, although I have saved one for what may be the first Photo of the Week for 2014.

A Photo A Day … October 19 2013

This is one of the photos that I took late last night whilst waiting for the never appearing lunar eclipse. I set the camera up, pointing it at the road on its tripod and opened the shutter speed to thirty seconds. As the boat was not in, there were not that many cars and lorries going both ways, making the light trails quite weak.

I also like the burst effect of the lights as well
