A Day In London

Last Thursday was my daughter’s birthday, so I took her for a day out in London. We went to the Natural History Museum and the Aquarium. Photos of the Museum will hopefully be up tomorrow. These are some from on the way and between venues.

A Day Out … Part Four

St James’s Park has a wonderful walk through it. Ute and I had an Ice Cream as we moved toward the other end of the Park. There were more ducks, and birds and squirrels. There was a sign that said “Do Not Feed The Pelican” I was hoping that we would see it, but unfortunately it was nowhere to be seen.

Leaving the park, we headed back to Westminster by way of where Trooping The Colour was held. The area was being cleaned away as it was over. There were the swordsmen standing guard at the openings, and of course everybody was having their photos taken with them. They must be trained well to not even flinch at the flashes, be shy away from people, or anything like that.

We walked past the Ministry of Defence with a pair of huge statues. The statues on the way back to Westminster were magnificent to say the least. At Westminster, I took a final few shots of Elizabeth Tower and the Clock that houses Big Ben before going through the underground back to St Pancras and then home.

I want to thank Ute for a totally magnificent day. It took me nearly a week to recover, but it was totally worth it and I would do it again in a flash. If you haven’t been to Ute’s page – go there. Give her a follow. She’s a great person.

A Day Out … Part Three

You can find part one here and part two here. When Ute and I left Buckingham Palace, we went into St James’ Park.

The park is beautiful. There are acres of greenery. Flowers, plants, animals, ducks, pigeons, geese. It is something beautiful to behold.

A Day Out … Part One

Last Saturday (June 29th) I went to London (UK) and met with another blogger. The lovely Ute Lark. Such a wonderful soul, she showed me around some of the sights there. Here are a few of the photos.

These photos are the view from the cable car, alighting off the far side, and then on the way back. You can see the “Helter Skelter” from the Olympic Park, and I had to take a couple of pigeons. I like the one with the wings out full. Also, the skateboarder mid trick was a good shot, I think.

There is the O2 Arena, which can be climbed up, but not without safety equipment. There is a needle just outside the Arena, which I took a photo of, looking straight up. It was dizzying.

We then took a couple of tubes to Westminster where we came out to face Elizabeth Tower which houses the bell Big Ben. As you can see, we were in this area for just over a half hour. I could not resist a seagull shot, just for Duncan. There is also the magnificent Boudicca (also known as Boadicea) with her horses.
