A Bird On The Land …

I was going to try for something like “A bird on land is worth three at a push” but decided against it.

These photos are ones that I took a few days ago when I went to Kearsney Abbey with my sister. I did take photos of the swan coming in to land, but the focus was wrong and it just looked like a white smear. Of course, I also had to include a seagull. It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t.

A Photo A Day … September 27 2013

I have been out with my sister today, and I went to a place called Kearsney Abbey. I have been there several times before, and usually manage a few decent shots while I am there. Today was no different. It has been difficult to choose a photo of the day. I had the choice between a flying swan (blurry so not really a choice), a swan (okay – same swan) almost crash landing – have you seen those things when they land? They are so funny haha. A swan flexing its wings. A coot chasing other coots “it’s my park … gerroffavit” <– say that out loud and you’ll understand it. A swan preening, birds all taking off at the same time. Something that I decided will be this week’s Photo Fiction Prompt. In the end I decided on this goose as it is cute.

A Photo A Day … September 09 2013

I sat down with my children and talked about school and then we watched Iron Man III together. Which is why this is late getting out today. It was raining when I went out, so I decided to take some rather “special” photos, but they will be in their own post as I am rather proud of some of them.

I took this yesterday, but I decided to go for the seagull yesterday as it is a Monday, so that means Macro Monday.

A Photo A Day … August 2013 … Part 3

The last one on here, the golden lady, she was a moving statue .. one of three that we saw. There was a golden man as well, after my daughter threw some money in his pot, he tried to have her stand beside him for his photo. She was too embarrassed, then when my son threw the money into the golden woman’s pot, she tried to have him in a photo, but he refused too. They both eventually had their photo taken with a Captain Jack Sparrow look-a-like. There was also a silver soldier there as well. The discipline these people have is impressive. I would never be able to stand for that length of time.

Tower Bridge is just after the photo that is this week’s Photo Fiction – The Dixie Queen. I loved the cruise that we went on, and this photo of Tower Bridge is one of the best that I have taken of it.
