This Christmas song was released in 1980 and only stopped being the Christmas number one because of two re-released John Lennon songs due to his being murdered on December 8th the same year. The singer said that he had never intended for this be a hit, he just wrote and released it as a protest song, protesting about soldiers fighting over the Christmas period. The references in the song are all over the place, and the singer has said that the person portrayed is an eternal soldier.
No. 1 Christmas song…hmmmm.
It was 1980 😉
Aaarrgghh. I loathe this. Sorry, but I do
😀
My all time fave record I love to hate? Hi Ho Silver Lining.
Makes me want to set fire to things, especially the bloody record. I’ve been known to walk out of places when they start playing that steaming pile of crap.
LOL. I’ll warn you if ever I decide to put that on then 😉 Not likely though. It’s not high up on my list.
Post that and I’ll make sure your site goes into denial of service 😉
LOL 😀
You have been warned;-(
As I say though, it’s not high up on my list. 😉
