Every week on a Wednesday, Rochelle hosts Friday Fictioneers. This is where people join together and write fiction, true life, poetry based using an image as a prompt that has been offered to Rochelle. It is a fun challenge. If you would like to have a go, then pop over to her blog and peruse the rules.
My story is part of an ongoing one that is taken from two different angles. It is a story of a vampire chasing his prey. My angle is that of the vampire – Raynard, and Jules takes the side of his prey – Saskia. You can find the full story at the top of the page under Fiction –> Friday Fictioneers –> Alastair and Jules.
Raynard has been chasing Saskia across the country to Oologah, Oklahoma. Powerful magic has destroyed the talisman Raynard had been using to track his prey. Unbeknownst to them, he already had a secondary form of tracking on her.

Upon reaching Oologah, Raynard found a disused building to park the BeastBike in. He found a payphone, called one of his “special favours”, and arranged meeting.
When night fell the following night, he and Tess walked to just outside of town to a nursery with a massive model of a wasp outside. Telling Tess to stay put, he met with his contact.
Meanwhile, Tess mulled over everything she had witnessed since the attack. More and more made no sense – Raynard’s contradictions; his timings; his eyes; his temper. She did not notice her eyes turning black as she realised the truth.
