A Photo A Day … November 09 2013

I looked out my balcony doors today, and one of the gulls was back. They haven’t been around for a while, so I was quite happy to see it. I started taking photos of it on the balcony railing, and then the cat caught sight and ran for it. The door was shut, but it was enough to scare the bird off. I went and put my shoes on and the hood of my camera lens, then went outside in the rain. I threw the poor thing some bread, but as you can see, it was raining quite hard and you can see the raindrops on the back feathers.

I have only done one seagull photo this month, and after showing my daughter the different ones, she thought this one was the best as the reflection in the eye was bright.

Today has been an extremely busy day. My daughter was out at a friends for a sleepover last night, I had to go out and get some bits, strip the colour from my daughter’s hair when she got home. Wait for a few hours then add some temporary colour to it. The school was none too pleased when she went in with pink hair. It was dyed at the beginning of the holidays and we expected it to be gone by now. Alas, it was still bright.

So I am late today, but this photo was on my rear balcony. I took about 30 shots of this fellow. I love his colouring.
