A Photo A Day … October 11 2013

A few days ago, Penny – from The Why About This – posted a photo of forks. I had never thought of creating art out of something like that. I said to Penny that I would start to try similar things in the coming months, and as my pain levels are high today, I thought I would give it a go and start with the forks.

I laid the forks onto the top of reflective silver take-out lids and set the camera onto four second shutter speed. I stood a second reflective lid on the side to stop any colours reflecting back. Then I held a third reflective lid above the forks, pressed the remote for the shutter and used the external flash on weak twice.

A Photo A Day … August 2013 … Part 3

The last one on here, the golden lady, she was a moving statue .. one of three that we saw. There was a golden man as well, after my daughter threw some money in his pot, he tried to have her stand beside him for his photo. She was too embarrassed, then when my son threw the money into the golden woman’s pot, she tried to have him in a photo, but he refused too. They both eventually had their photo taken with a Captain Jack Sparrow look-a-like. There was also a silver soldier there as well. The discipline these people have is impressive. I would never be able to stand for that length of time.

Tower Bridge is just after the photo that is this week’s Photo Fiction – The Dixie Queen. I loved the cruise that we went on, and this photo of Tower Bridge is one of the best that I have taken of it.

Trick Photography

June 28 2013

Okay, I did say that I was going to do a video of how I did this. However, I realised that it would take about 2-3 minutes to run the video but you would see how it was done in the first few seconds.

So, I decided that I would just take a photo of the setup. I know some people have already worked it out.I recreated the setup. I set the cups, poured water in and finished by dropping food colouring into each of the cups.

I Brought This

I brought this photo off of another blogger – Damn Que Mala – who has a Society 6 shop. She takes truly magnificent photos. I would love to be able to take them half as good as she does. Maybe one day I will. She asked of she could see it when it arrived, so I have taken a photo and plastered her name across the centre as you never know what rapscallions can come across the photos randomly and steal them to print. I trust the bloggers who read my blog not to do it as you all know the hard work that goes into it all. It’s the people who find the pages through Google. take a look at this, and then go look at her blog. You won’t be disappointed.
