Follow Friday: Rarasaur

Rara calls herself a dinosaur and is a very friendly creature. If you are nice to Rara, then Rara will be nice to you. The blog is only about eighteen months old, and has already been Freshly Pressed (which is how I found her).

Rara’s blog is unpredictable. You never know what her next post will be about, but you can guarantee it will be a good read. She does talk about her husband and his blog, and she also has two cats. One is named after a Shakespearean character, and the other is named after a Superhero. It’s up to you to find out what the names are though.

Rara’s interests go from Artists to mushrooms to shiny things to Zanzibar.

Hers is definitely a great blog to follow.

Follow Friday: David Oakes Images

Follow_FridayDavid Oakes is a freelance photographer with a love of nature and wildlife. Gaining qualifications in Manchester, David took on a career as a professional photographer. He will take photos of landscapes, old buildings, water-borne creatures and vessels.

His photography is stunning, and he is usually out with his support team, who also apparently take their roles at home very seriously:

Carla – a black Labrador who adores people is in charge of meeting and greeting

Buster – a Jack Russell who likes to let his voice known when people enter the house. Apparently a bribe of a biscuit and he will look the other way.

David is one of those photographers whose photos are not seen, they are experienced.

Follow Friday: The Why About This

Follow_Friday

The Why About This was one of the blogs that opened the door to many more for me. The owner, Penny, creates poetry and inspiration like you would not believe. I have found that when she posts something that is on her mind, it is very easy to bring it to the fore of your own mind. She has a marvellous way of writing that is so easy to read, it’s as if you aren’t actually reading it, you are just storing it. She uses images to accentuate what she writes and these are usually perfectly matched.

The poetry on The Why About This is also in a class of its own. Each time a poem is written, it is about something different, and may not even be in the same style as the previous 1, 3, 5 or 10 poems written.

Also a very good artist, Penny will often share with us works of art that she has produced. Some of which are also used as online images, like the Troubadour that you will see on various blogs around the internet.

There is a book that she has written – The Shy Butterfly – that is an inspirational book for children and adults alike. It is well written by Penny and illustrated by Debbie Edwards, and it tells of a butterfly overcoming its fears with the help of a Monarch Butterfly. It is a very good book, and well worth a read.

There is also a second blog that she has – A Penny For Your Thoughts – that is solely short inspirational messages.

So, if you want a new blog to follow, head over to The Why About This and see what Penny writes.

Follow Friday: Book to the Future

Follow_Friday

Book To The Future started out as a Book Review blog, with Ste J giving us a unique perspective of the books he has read. As a book lover and a book “sniffer”, his love of books puts him in the right place for this.

In recent times, Ste J has started to include poetry, and whilst he is just a beginner with it, is very good and if he carries it on can be better than exceptional.

At his 200th post, he created a “Vlog” a “Video Log” where he speaks to his readers directly and reviews the book House of Leaves by Mark Z Danielewski and has gone on to create a second Vlog book review.

He is also an avid Doctor Who fan and reviewed a video of one of the Doctor’s adventures for each of his regenerations.

Ste J’s blog, Book To The Future is a good blog to follow, and I would suggest going over, taking a look through a few posts and then clicking Follow. Or clicking Follow then taking a look through.
