Episode 3

Jenna ran as fast as she could, with all thoughts of her nakedness gone from her mind as she thought she was out of her mind. How could there be a dinosaur now? It was not possible. She stopped, wheezing and trying to catch her breath. Looking behind her, the dinosaur was nowhere around.

She looked down again at the blood on her hands and it dawned on her how cold she was. She pawed at the blood to see if it belonged to her, and was not sure if she was happy or not to find it was not hers.

Helen picked up a bottle of water from the workstation near her, took a long draft, and then pinched the bridge of her nose attempting to recover her vision.

She looked around at other agents covering bodies with sheets and coats. She recognised a pair of legs and froze. Kelly followed her gaze to Dennis laying on the floor with an agent kneeling over him.

“He’s alive, barely”, he told her solemnly. She nodded and looked at Trixie who was rifling the pockets of Martinez. “His office – check inside his desk phone. That is where I would hide it and I need chocolate.”

“You don’t have the guts, pinhead” Jorge sneered at him. “Why don’t you put the gun down and I won’t hurt you too much?”

“I don’t have time for this crap” Dennis replied, pulling the trigger. The bullet penetrated Jorge’s left shoulder, shattering the clavicle and shredding muscle. He collapsed, screaming in pain as Trixie stood stunned and one of the cigarettes fell from her fingers.

“Damn! I was aiming for his hand,” Dennis said, bending over, still trying to recover his breath and stop his hands from shaking.

Trixie dragged on the other cigarette, fighting the urge to scream.

“I have.” A voice said from behind him.

Dennis turned around and saw a woman standing there. She looked to be about 5’8 with heels, and made up with far too much make up, and the brunette hair looked like a wig. He thought she looked like a hooker, but looks can always be deceiving.

“Where did you see her?” he asked. “She hasn’t had her insulin today, and if she doesn’t have it, she could die”.

“What’s it worth?” the brown-haired woman asked.

“I only have $75 on me. Please you can have it all.” He handed the money over to her.
