Another Illegal Entry?

Malvin’s idea of fun differed completely to that of his companion. For a fun night out, Malvin liked to head for the pub and sing a few bars down at the karaoke, albeit very badly now, but his friend thought of something he referred to as “more fun”, the kind of fun he put behind him several years ago.

Muttering to himself, Malvin slid a library card down beside the lock of the door and hearing a click, gently pushed it open. Crouching down, he crept slowly in and saw the case with the crown, sceptre and jewels on the table.

Malvin slipped behind a sofa being careful not to touch anything, whilst his cohort stood at the door, keeping watch. He stealthily made his way to the table and looked over the case, his hand a hair’s breadth from the glass. Feeling nothing, he gently took a glove off, making sure not to touch anything. He held his hand near the glass again, and feeling no air from anywhere, he frowned and sat back on his haunches.

His companion turned the light on, strode across the room and unlocked the case with a key.

  1. Or…maybe they just actually lived there and the guy at the door got tired of waiting? How else would he have the key? …Oh there are other possibilities but it it illegal to enter your own home? I think the first guy might have already stolen the goods, displayed them and just liked to relive his triumph. Or maybe my brain cells are still frozen from being outside…

  2. Cliff-hanger, Al! This is great :). Malvin’s very credible. Can picture him at karaoke. Love your imagination 🙂
