This week’s weekly photo challenge is “Unexpected“. After reading Zeebra’s post, I knew what I was going to post.
A couple of weeks ago, we had severe winds, just under hurricane force. One thing I wanted to do two or three years ago, was take a photo of a wave engulfing the lighthouse. So when I managed it, that was unexpected.

That’s quite a dramatic series of photos. I’d like to be in the lighthouse at that time.
Oh that would be magnificent.

Wow! (As said by many here)
Unbelievable images! Spectacular and awesome – and terrific – in the true sense of the word. Nature’s fury unleashed.
Incredible that you were able to capture these images. Safely I hope 🙂
Thanks for sharing these – I have never seen anything like this before. Truly amazing.
Thank you. I had shared them before, but they were amidst other photos from that storm, so they got .. ahem .. drowned out. I stood on my balcony photographing these, and I love the result
Lol — lost at sea?
*as she slaps her own hand for being so silly* 😉
Haha 😀
WOW amazing shots!
Thank you Roxi 🙂

They are two of the most beautiful things to capture (aside from sunrise and sunset 😉 )
Wow! Spectacular!
Thank you Alejandro 🙂
I love to spend time during the winter along the Pacific coast; the storms are so absolutely amazing.

oh my! with this slow internet, it loaded one photo.. now i see there are more – and wow!!! they’re great!!!!! what a great unexpected moment for you!
Thanks 😀 I missed one a couple of years ago, I swung my camera around as the droplets were falling so missed the “money shot” so to speak.
ha! i usually say at that moment, ‘it’s worth the risk!’
when the sea turtle hurled sand as she was laying the eggs, i got a face full, as did the camera.. it still reminds me of that sin, usually when i need to take a fast shot and it says, ‘nope.’
(i’m in shock that the signal is strong enough for these comments to go through!)
lol There’s a little hamster that has been given some bacardi and is running away in it’s wheel keeping the strength high lol
Yeah, I said that I wasn’t going to go out on the balcony in the strong winds, but I wasn’t getting decent shots so thought “Sod it! It’s worth the risk” 😉
Wow, that is a great one! I saw those headlines about that weather.
Great photo and perfect! I’m glad the kerspalsh triggered your memory!
