Thanks Poppy. What a shame you didn’t get to see it. I think that the moon brings it on itself with the clouds. The moon affects tides etc, so when it is a “super moon” I think it affects them more, causing more evaporation, more clouds, more precipitation, and stopping it from being seen so well. That’s my theory anyway. I’m no scientist, so I don’t know if that would be the cause. Just a guess

It does 🙂 When I say it start to pop it’s head out from behind the clouds, I stopped what I was doing, picked up my tripod and went outside 🙂

It was so bright here, but I didn’t get a photo of it. I got up around 1:30 a.m., and looked up. It actually hurt my eyes a little bit to look at it. Wonderful shots! 🙂

You must have quite a bit of smog. Your moon is red. Here it was blazing white. I don’t know if it was the difference in time, the camera, or the air quality. It’s prettier red, but it was fabulous here. I just didn’t take a picture. 🙂
It was loads of factors. If I took it without the flash, it was white and the sky was blue. I thought it looked better red though 🙂
Since it hit us in the middle of the night. blue sky was never an option. So did you photoshop it??? NO don’t answer that Alastair! 🙂
