RELAX
I knew going to the sea would ease me. The witch doctor had told me so. All I had to do was walk into the sea, relax and let nature take care of the rest. I Made it into the sea and used my arms to pull myself out into the depths. I was scared. I am a man who is used to being in as much control as I can be.
Suddenly, I felt myself being pulled. I was now moving and I was doing nothing. I used my arms to try flapping myself backwards, but I kept going forwards. A thought entered my head.
Stop! Don’t fight. Relax!
I obeyed even though every part of me screamed not to listen. Then something odd happened. I felt. I looked down and saw nothing. Something was pulling on my toes. This was impossible! I swung my leg and almost cried out as I felt resistance from the water. I turned and I swam back to the shore and walked up the beach. The crowd watched me in stunned silence.
I picked up my artificial legs and threw them. I wouldn’t need them any longer …
Miracles can happen..Fabulous ending Alastair:)
Thank you 🙂
That was different. The sea feels miraculous when you are in it.
It can make you feel like a new person 🙂
Once you’ve got your sea legs I imagine.
Or any legs 🙂
Fantastic. I did not expect that ending. But now that I’ve gone there with you, I could see a Shaman directing someone on such a quest. Well met, good sir!
Thank you EagleAye 🙂
I haven’t started yet and as soon as I figure out how this wordpress works, I will contribute to your picture a day. Although right now I am still in wordless mode. I am backtracking on some of your previous works. Thanks for the entertaining read Alastair.
🙂
A refreshing end here. a very positive take on the photo prompt. Let the word get out, and the witch doctor will have a lot of new followers.
🙂

Miracles can happen at any time or any place 🙂

You believe in witch doctors, too, huh?! You should flesh out that story a little more, Alastair. Just that little bit intrigued me.
Thanks Alejandro. Makes a change for me to write a story that isn’t bad 🙂
They don’t call him my friend the witch doctor for nothing! (Or are you too young for that? ) 🙂
