Another late entry into the field of Photos. I’ve been sitting here watching a film with my daughter so I am only just now posting this. This photo is dedicated to all the emergency services who put their lives on the line every day of the year to save us, to help us or to just get that cat from the tree.

I’ll have to show this one to my hubby. – In the states probably 70%-80% of all firefighters are volunteers. “If” and I say that because the pros think that there is a difference in training…’if’ there is a difference in training it might be 1% or 2% out of 100% – you would not know it by the dedication of the men and women in our area who serve our community with education and care.
And I know of what I speak because between the folks who fight the blaze and admin members in two different states our family has nine people involved in volunteer organizations. Years of active service, priceless.
So thank you for your thanks.
I tried to join the Retained Fire Brigade – our volunteers. But I had to make it to the station in four minutes. It was just under a mile away and I could only make it in 6-6½ minutes on foot and flat out. That was when I was eighteen.
They do a magnificent job all over the world.
All volunteer of any ilk really.
Our administrative members help out with the paper work so they are not restricted to physical training activities. We have members as young as 14 and some well into their 80’s. There is a place for any one who wants to serve.
That’s brilliant. I wanted to be able to make a difference to people’s lives. But, alas, no car stopped me. They wouldn’t allow non firefighters to help out. But that was a very long time ago
Well done!
Thanks Amber
A nice dedication to our heroes
