It’s Wednesday again, time for Friday Fictioneers. This is where a group of like minded people write Flash Fiction (short stories) based on a photo prompt supplied by different people. Stories are around the 100 word mark although you won’t be strung up by the toenails if you go over that mark.
My story is part of an ongoing saga that is between myself and Jules Paige about a vampire (Raynard) chasing down his prey (Saskia). My side of the stories are from Raynard’s view, and Jules’ side comes from Saskia’s side.
Today’s photo prompt comes from Sandra Crook.
You can find the prompt at Rochelle’s blog, and you can find more stories if you click on the InLinkz icon after the story.
You can also find other parts of the story here and here.

THE BEAST BIKE
Gladys told Raynard his prey had taken the train. She had glanced at the ticket and judging by the price, there were three possible stops – Newtown, Old Sycamore Station, or Three Oaks Station.
Raynard was now leaving Newtown on his BeastBike and heading for Old Sycamore. He was still weak after draining Spellmyn. He found out too late that she had drunk holy water. He was laid up for three days in excruciating pain.
There was even more reason to turn Saskia rather than kill her. Maybe he would force her to drink holy water whilst holding a cross made of garlic.
Beast Bike is a great title, and a great name for that contraption. I like vampire stories, but I haven’t come across the cross of garlic before, is that your own idea – it’s a good one.
Thank you
It was. I couldn’t think of a third part to it 😆
Hey, what is it about this Beastbike? Didn’t I just read about it in a previous story…or am I dreaming? Like Celestine…I’m not into this vampire stuff and no, I don’t watch those films either. My generation had it’s own “true” horrors to deal with. But don’t let me stop you … continue with your vampire stories. ps: Tks for visiting my Rednecks.
You would have read about it on Jules’ page 🙂 We have a two sided story going. When one needs to catch up, the other fleshes part of it out. In this case, it was how Raynard came about the Beast Bike.
Thanks for the visit Lora, and I enjoyed your story 🙂
Beast Bike is a cool name and fitting. Well done.
Tom
Thanks Tom 🙂
Think Beast Bike was well named!
Good story, well done
Dee
Thanks Dee 😀
The beast bike? Certainly looks like one. What a creepy story. Nice job.
Thank you Shirley 🙂
Wow! That’s a lot of action in just a 100 words! Neatly done!
Thank you 😀
Love the thought of the holy water making Jules sick. Good stuff.
Thanks Kim 🙂
double whammy 🙂
😀
force her to drink holy water whilst holding a cross made of garlic — extremely evil ^^ and Beast Bike sounds awesome. great story
Thank you kz 🙂
Very interesting. You developed quite a bit on environment in very few words. Nicely done!
Thank you 🙂
HA! A new meaning to don’t drink the water. Perhaps Raynard needs to stick to the ale. I like the continuation Alastair!
Thanks Joe 🙂 the bike had to be his as soon as I saw it 🙂
Vampire stories make me cringe. 🙂
😀 I’m guessing you don’t like Twilight then
You guessed right. I don’t want to dream dreams 🙂
😀 I prefer REAL vampire stories like The Lost Boys and True Blood
I’m impressed that you managed to make the prompt fit your story this week – it was a tough one!
Thank you. I found it would fit easily to the story, getting Raynard out of town and tracking down Saskia again 🙂
I’ve always wondered what would happen if I drank holy water! Nice story, one hopefully to be developed into something longer!
Thank you 🙂 It’s been going on for a little while now. You can find the link further up the post, just above the picture
Nicely developed theme, and well written.
Thank you 😀 Coming from you that is a huge compliment.
Got my motor running…heading down the highway, nice Alastair
Haha love that 😀 Thank you
Thing is I can’t stop singing it my head now lol you are welcome 🙂
😆 Just for you

I just listened and commented THANK YOU! 🙂
Loved the term beast bike 🙂
Thanks 🙂
If I see that bike coming at me out of the dark I am going to run! Great little combo you two have got going there, I really like it. 🙂 B.T.W. thanks for the twitter follow but there’s not much going on out that way! I must admit I have never really got the hang of it, but thank you all the same. 🙂
Thank you, and you’re welcome 🙂 I follow a few people who rarely tweet
Anyone seeing that bike speeding through the countryside in the middle of the night would be smothering their house in garlic, holy water and any other demon repelling thing they could find. Me thinks Raynard has a nasty streak in him 🙂
I think it is better to say that somewhere … very deep down … he has a nice … dot. 😆
Love the name ‘BeastBike’; has a great ring to it…!
That ‘holy water’ will do it everytime.. 😉
A very thoughtful write..
Thank you 🙂

Well done Alastair, good continuation, one could almost imagine it had been plotted out ahead of time! 🙂
As soon as I saw it, the idea flew into my head. I even had the picture of him screaming up the road with his long (matrix style) coat flapping.
Thanks Penny 🙂
Oh, I can picture that too, neat! I hear the music also!
Haha glad I’m not the only one. I would love to be able to draw a picture of Raynard. I have an idea of what he looks like in my head. I have loads of artistry books and pencils and charcoals from when I had a fad for drawing. I think I’ll get them out and see if I can use them to draw his face. Hopefully get it something close to what I see in my head
Nice weaving the beastbike into your story. That’s a great name for the bike. And a fitting one for a vampire, me thinks.
Thanks 🙂 As soon as I saw the bike, I knew what I was going to do with it.
Beast and bike go together like blood and water ( i mean oil and vinegar)
😆
Nice-looking bike!
It is. Wish I could see one of those up close. http://castelsarrasin.wordpress.com/ That’s the person who took it. 🙂
Great line, still weak from draining Spellmyn! And beastbike!
Thanks 🙂 I just found this in the spam bucket for some reason 😦
Beast bike is a good name for it. Loved this, well done.
Thanks Sandra. Thanks for providing the photo, it is an awesome contraption.
This car is impressive, which in the past was used to plow the ground! Peasants, using such machines, semi-automatic, difficult access to land. It is like a jewel.
The real work of art.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Have a wonderful evening, Alastair! 🙂
Wow. I didn’t know that. I just did the story with it 🙂 Sandra Crook is the photographer for that one
whoo hooo!!! What a bike!!!!
Cool isn’t it? Perfect for an evil vampire 😀
I had no idea (or missed it) that there was another pov for this story. How do I find it?
At the top of my page, there’s FF That’s the story so far from both sides. Or just above the photo there are two links. One goes to Jules’ page which is where the same story is
Well – Duh! You did include the link.
Will go check it out…
😀
Alistair, I also appreciated the intro and I like how you used the bike.
janet
Thanks Janet 🙂
Hey that’s different! Enjoy the day, Alastair. hugs Paula xxx
Thanks Paula 🙂
I can just imaging Raynard traveling at tops speeds in the wee hours on that beast! I might think on this one awhile …might even wait for a ‘day’ prompt! Busy day for me, ahead. I’ll add your piece to the story page as soon as I am able. Thanks!
(I did forget it was Wednesday…And there are still so many from last week I wanted to read…)
Yeah I missed a lot from last week. I got a busy bit coming up soon.
I love the name Beast Bike, and this picture would make an awesome vampire bike. I like where this story is going.
Thanks David. I am really enjoying it 🙂
Dear Alistair,
I think you need a “than” after the word rather. Thanks for the explanation in your intro. The series makes more sense to me now.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you, I hadn’t noticed that.
I figured that with all the stories, and the names being given, it would be an idea to explain rather than just slap a name in there
Precisely. With upwards of 90 people posting each week it’s a bit challenging sometimes to keep them all straight.
Yeah, I’ve just started something similar I have started on a blog using photos that I have taken. Although I have only had 12 people this week and 6 last week, it can still be difficult remembering which story was which
