This is my story for the photo I have used as a prompt on my Photo Fiction blog. The idea is to use the photo provided and come up with a story of approximately 150 words.

BEFORE THE BEAK
“They don’t need pigeons when they have me”, thinks the seagull as he soars through the air. He can feel the letter in his beak and knows, as a carrier bird, this is the most vital piece of information ever carried. He has been flying for over three hours now, and the letter is starting to feel quite heavy, as if his beak is starting to fall off.
Landing now would cause him to want to stay down and drop the it. Not something he wants to do, especially when the future of all Laridae1 is in the balance. All he can do is to focus and try to ignore the pull on the back of his beak.
He is having difficulty containing his excitement. He wants everygull to share his news. Well, not every gull, but most.
This letter tells of the house where food is always given out.
1 Laridae is the Latin name for gulls

Great story! Nice of him to share the news. He could have kept all that food for himself! 🙂
It’s funny, I got the idea because of yesterday. I was heading back home with my son and a flock of about 100 seagulls. My son looked at them and said “we’re going to need more bread”
Clever boy!
