It is a sad day in the UK today. A long running program that used to be on over here was Grandstand. One of the commentators on that went on to be the voice for all of the Olympics – Winter and Summer for the last forty years, including 2012. He also covered every World Cup from 1974 – 2006. He then went on to be the voice of ITV’s Dancing on Ice when it started in 2006. Today he died after a short illness. The day after the latest series of Dancing on Ice finished.

RIP, Tony
Had no idea! Very sad.
May he rest in peace.
May his soul rest in peace!
That is sad, Alastair. He was NOT what I would call an old man! Sounds like he had a wonderful life ❤
No wasn’t old. He was a very well known voice.
May he rest in peace.
Is sad news
Sorry for the lost, may he R.I.P.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Yeah he will be missed.
***Rest in Peace to him.:)
Rest in Peace with him. Everything has a reason! Good thing for sure he marked the good history to your country.:)
Yes he did.
I hadn’t heard. I don’t follow sport, but have just told DH. He wasn’t very old. Sad for his family too.
Yes we all are
Such a shame when icons pass away. I can relate, last year, Indian showbiz lost some 5 or 6 stalwarts all aged between 70 and 80. We mourned as a nation…
I’ll bet. Losing five.
