I have always liked this track, and it’s nothing to do with the booty shaking of the Latino Belly Dancer.
This song was written by the Colombian singer as well as Gloria Estefan and Tim Mitchell. The song is about how the singer fell in love with her boyfriend who lives on a different continent. It was released in 2001 in the US and 2002 in the UK. The song hit number one in 29 countries including … Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. It reached position two of the UK Singles Chart, six of the US Billboard Hot 100, four in the Canadian Hot 100 and eight in Japan. It sold over 8.5 million copies becoming the biggest selling single of 2001. In Switzerland, it stayed at number one for seventeen consecutive weeks.
