The song hit number one in 29 countries including … Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. It reached position two of the UK Singles Chart, six of the US Billboard Hot 100, four in the Canadian Hot 100 and eight in Japan. It sold over 8.5 million copies becoming the biggest selling single of 2001. In Switzerland, it stayed at number one for seventeen consecutive weeks.
