This track came from a film in 1995. The only reason I watched the film in the first place was because it has Michelle Pfeiffer in it. The singer was awarded a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance, two MTV Video Music Award‘s for Best Rap Video and for Best Video from a Film and a Billboard Music Award for the song/album. The film is based on a book – My Posse Don’t Do Homework by former U.S. Marine LouAnne Johnson. The marine takes on the role as a teacher at a school, only to find that the students are not the normal run of the mill students from a normal run of the mill school. These students are all underprivileged students who are in trouble with gangs and the police. Johnson takes on a new approach and gives the students all an A grade at the beginning of the year and tries to get them to keep it by having them poetry starting from Bob Dylan’s Mr Tambourine Man, before progressing to Dylan Thomas. However the school authorities don’t go much on her methods. The film stars Michelle Pfeiffer, George Dzundza, Courtney B. Vance, Robin Bartlett, Richard Grant, Wade Dominguez, Lorraine Toussaint, Beatrice Winde as well as many others. The film is Dangerous Minds

I’m not a big rap fan but do like this and really enjoyed this movie as well. 🙂
Yeah as far I am concerned, rap has a silent C. But that is good, and I like the film
😀
🙂
My younger brother loved that song so much!! Hugs Paula x
Wikkid 🙂
What a great song! Thanks for the way back playback on s great movie!
You’re welcome 🙂
I really like this song 🙂
Thanks, I do. I was sure that during the song Pfeiffer said “There are no victims in this classroom” but it must have just been the trailer. Definitely got to see that film again
Yea, you really can’t watch it enough. It is one of my favorites!
Couldn’t agree more
🙂
Cool track!
Thank you. I definitely got to watch this film again. I’ve been thinking of this track for a while
Have you watched Scarface? MP is in that one too 😉
I haven’t. I’ll have to have a look out for that one. 🙂 I’ll see if it’s on Netflix
It’s a classic. But – be warned – Lots of foul language, some nudity & lots of blood.
I’ve watched some really offensive films, things like that don’t bother me. It’s just gouging out eyes that does. Well, that and over use of the C word which is one I do find offensive and is reserved for very rare occasions.
Thanks for the suggestion and the warning 🙂
Then – this will be ok for you. No c word that I can think of or if there is – it’s not used enough that it’s memorable. And – no eye gauging.
Yay cool 🙂
