Haha π Seriously though, I am appreciative of everyone who comes to visit. I wish I knew what it was that I did that makes people come back.
I have honestly no idea what brings people to my blog either. The bowel habits thing brought the house down, but o did the tale of Petra.
I’ll just continue to use the shotgun approach I think.
I’m closing in on 70 followers now, with 7 joining in the last week. Views running at an average of 65 to 75 a day.
So it’s a bit like advertising. Only about 10% of it works, but nobody knows WHICH 10%
That’s doing bloody well!! I’ll reblog one of your posts soon, see if that will get you more visitors. π I’m not saying that to mean … bollocks you know what I mean haha

BTW if i believe my WordPress stats, I’ve got 60 odd followers on my blog, 20 odd on FB, 20 odd on Twitter, and a single brave soul on Tumblr.
StatCounter puts it a bit higher, but I always take those figures with a snowplough full of salt.
Yeah mine says six hundred and something, but it’s a couple of hundred less than that. Others are on Facebook and Twitter. No one is following Pinterest – not sure if you can, and I haven’t got Tumblr.
I don’t honestly see the point of Pinterest. Lots of fluffy kittens.
I have a Tumblr account but find the interface very tricky. so all I do is make sure my blog here gets re-posted, and leave it at that.
I see. I need to use something tat I can put photos on. I’ve used nearly 1.5gb of my 3gb allowance.

Oh and BTW,,,I think you should look more at the comments you get. You see a lot of blogs out there with big stats…but no comments and people don’t seem to even take the trouble to hit the like button. So they are not really engaging with the blog [my feelings at least]. Here Alistair you get heaps of comments and likes…I say that that is a bigger judge of how good your blog is and how well it is doing.

Thank you Penny. I appreciate you coming to my blog for visits when you can. Without you coming by, I would never got this far. By the end of January last year, I had a total 2321 views. So that’s 42,621 in a year. I am truly astounded. I am just me. I take photos. I share other peoples music. I occasionally write a little bit of poetry. To have something so popular is … well it is … I’ve never had anything this popular. I think gobsmacked really is the best word to use.

At the end of October 2012 I refreshed the page on our blog and the hit colunter ticked over to 200,000, that was a surprise today the hit counter has reached 233,708. I remember the first time I ever posted, that day I received 1,011 hits I thought it had to be a fluke but the visitors just seem to enjoy it, it is a photo blog but it makes everything worhwhile when you can see visitors are enjoying your work.
We even bought the domain name, so it never shows wordpress.com in the url, the statistics on WordPress can be a little daunting.
One of the themes we photograph are the illuminated Carnivals we we attend everyone from September to November, it is a seasonal events but visitors are amazed at the size of the floats, photographing these illuminated floats can be very hard as they are so bright, there is a lot of back light so we have to provide the lighting for their faces to show up.
It is the 3 months of the year we work very hard and travel quite a lot no matter what the weather is like, we also make a donation to every town we visit.
That is truly impressive.

That 1200 and something was the day I uploaded a photo of R2D2 in Star Trek. Not one of them left a comment or a like LOL. 600 is my best since then.
It’s funny how blogging works. I started blogging in June and got my best view day in July and then kept that until last week, when I broke it two days in a row. It tends to be when something goes viral, it goes big and it goes fast.
That’s so true. I’ve been blogging for about six years, and this last year has been the best for views and visits
