Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreign

This weeks challenge from The Daily Post is Foreign. At first I was thinking that I haven’t been abroad since …. ummm … well passports weren’t necessary to go France, so that was about 1989. Then as I was looking at other people’s posts, I realised that foreign isn’t just another country. It’s something that is out of place. So these photos that I have chosen have that in mind. The Viking ship – well, it’s Viking and originally came from Denmark. The distance markers are beside the Viking Ship, the Hugin. The Ship is a warship, and the plane is a Fairey Swordfish, which is out of time, so Foreign to these parts and this time. The boy in the photo is my nephew and the photo was taken by my sister when she went to Turkey. [CORRECTION: My nephew was swimming in the Red Sea in Egypt not in Turkey]  It is a stunning photo.

  2. I like this point of view of foreign pictures. Lots of great choices. Gotta’ love the clear water that your nephew is swimming in. Great shot!

  3. I love pictures of signposts.
Also, I love your idea that foreign can simply be an environ that is out of place for you. There’s lots of places like that where I live. I’ll be sure to take photos of signposts when I visit them :o)
