My daughter is many things, a great singer, a great photographer, a great poet, an average musician, and a great artist. Although this last one I didn’t realise until she did her art homework a couple of days ago. I have always wanted to be a good artist, but the best I could manage was mediocre – with the occasional flair of panache lol.
She has asked me to take a photograph of it and post it on my blog. I’m hoping that she will post it on her own blog soon too.

I know it’s been said and said again, but it definitely bears repeating….this is very very impressive talent. Brava!! Seriously, I can barely draw stick figures LOL :p I can however, appreciate awesome talent when I see it! ๐
Thank you Christina. Her skill with the pencil is exemplary. What I neglected to mention was that she did this in two hours. She wasn’t that happy with it. But there again are artists ever happy with what they do?
She said that if she had taken more time with it she could have done a better job. ???

Yes, and both of my kids have their own talents. I’ll post a photo soon of a painting my son done when he was in [thinking of best way to describe this for world-wide knowledge] He was 9 years old, so in the UK, year 4 of primary school. He drew Van Gogh’s sunflowers.
I am impressed with the skills and the abilities of both of my kids and I am so proud of them ๐

Haha I wish! I would love to be able to do art as well as they can. Maybe I’ll scan some if it to show you what I mean. An 8 year old does better than me, LOL
but you have a creative spark Alastair.. your photography and poetry rocks. They just use it in another way. You expose them to it and feed their creative side– which is an awesome Dad
