I went to the river again today, showing my sister where the little moorhens were yesterday. Unfortunately they had gone, leading us to believe that the little clump of grass is something that the birds use as a rest stop. As we were watching al the birds, and I was again trying to get shots of butterflies, two mallards decided that they wanted a rest there.

You know what I love about ducks? That I can’t help but smile when I watch them. Wild ducks are usually a bit leary of us, but we used to have some ducks on the horse farm and they are so flippin’ adorable! Their day to day behavior always made me laugh.
I was watching them for a while. We were laughing when they were sticking their heads under water and their legs were going as if to say “help! help! Lemme up!” lol
Your so lucky you live near some wildlife 🙂
It is wonderful. Considering we are a town, there is an incredible amount of wildlife
