Sometimes … (Inspired by Christina ~)

Thank you Christina~ who inspired me to write this with her poem – Evermore. I’ve not actually written poetry before, so I apologise for the nature and the layout, and everything.

Sometimes I don’t want to care
Sometimes I want to lay my soul bare

Sometimes I want to think like others think
Sometimes I have watched and felt my heart sink

Sometimes I don’t want to give a damn about anything
Sometimes I want to hide when I hear the phone ring

Sometimes I want to look at things and say “yeah so what!”
Sometimes I want to be nothing more than a speck or a dot

Sometimes I wish I could think “this is a violin playing just for you”
Sometimes I wish there were nice things I could just say or do

Sometimes I want to curl up into a ball and ignore the world
Sometimes I wish I could go back to before my world unfurled

Sometimes I want to shut out all of the world’s noises
Sometimes I wish I had never made the wrong choices

Sometimes I just want to cry
Sometimes I just want to ….

  2. The first poem you ever wrote……it is as beautiful as the soul it emerged from. Thank you for sharing it with me.

  4. I really like this! And I think that was a great ending. Like, it could be you reiterating that sometimes you just want to do all the things you mentioned or it could be you just giving up halfway, hanging. I agree with everyone else – you should write more!

  5. Wow!!! I’m so very very very honored…that what I wrote could inspire this beautiful piece from you! You wrote from deep inside and it showed….it is awesome!!! I very sincerely hope that you feel the healing that can come from sharing like this…like I do.

I know the hesitancy…uncertainty that comes when the words pour out…when you type them into that post….when you hesistate to push the publish button wondering what in the world you’re about to do….to share. I am so very proud of you for getting past that, for doing something you didn’t think you could, and for sharing this incredible piece of you!!!

I applaud you my friend….you did that which you didn’t think you could….and you did it magnificently! Huge hugs sweet friend!!

    • Thank YOU Christina. It was reading your post that gave me the inspiration to send that.

I will say, as soon as I hit publish, I thought “oh hell, I shouldn’t have done that yet”

Yes, it did come from somewhere deep down. Thank you 🙂

      • I think that is THE best most sweetest compliment I’ve ever gotten…ever. 😀 !! LOL OH Yes…I’ve felt that a time or two myself…then somehow magically beautifully it all turned out so great and I found myself with so many many words just pouring out…

One word, song, comment, picture, anything really…will trigger something inside and then it just flows…it is an awesome feeling though isn’t it? Like an adrenalin rush 😉

Again, so very very proud of you! For being brave and for writing something so real and honest and raw….it’s just fantastic!! 🙂 And I have to thank you for something else too…

I have not been able, yet, to reply to the comments on my blog today…seems I am a human barometer…and there is a HUGE storm coming, unfortunately for me that means massively HUGE migraine till the barometric pressure stabilizes….I just HAD to come read this and let you know how I felt…so thank you for pulling me away — distracting me from my stupid head….so appreciated!! Lots more Hugs!!

        • My daughter suffers migraines. So I know how that goes, although she rarely gets them now thankfully.

Thank you for taking the time to read it, even though I know it must have been painful for you.

I do have another one at the moment, but I don’t feel it’s ready yet. Maybe two so close wouldn’t be good. Sorry it took so long getting back to you

          • It was a pleasaure to read it…truly!! 🙂 I honestly hate few things in this world…but migraines and pain are the top two!!! Thankfully, it will pass….once the storm gets here…praying it’s soon!!

How exciting! Another one!!! 😀 ! will most definitely be looking forward to it!! Remember, it’s yours…post it when you want to without worry about time!

No worries about response time…mine is hit or miss also, life does like to pull me away from my most enjoyable time here! :p

            • I allowed my daughter to stay up a bit later and played a game on the XBOX together with a couple of friends from further up the UK. She doesn’t often ask to join in my games, so when she does, I let her.

With the pain, I think the three worst ones have to be – earache, headache and toothache.

            • That’s so awesome you got to play with her! I love playing video games with my kids – my son (12) loves race car games. His favorite is Gran Turismo 5 (ps3). He’s been playing since he was 2 (earlier versions of Gran Turismo) and is very very very good at it. Used to play with his dad ALL the time. He (Jack) want’s to teach me how to race better – He calls it driving school lol! It is fun to play with each of them! I think we’ve had all the game systems except for xbox…which they’ve been bugging me to get lol. Maybe Santa will help us out this year :p

Agreed! Headaches and toothaches…and earaches are the absolute WORST!!! 😦

            • I’ve never had the PS3, been an XBOX person myself. Farrah has a PS2 that we used to play The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe on, but she got bored with that after she got the Wii. That was originally brought for the pair of them, but I brought Kester an XBOX for Christmas (I think) or it was Christmas before. So we occasionally play together on mine and his.

Kes is out of this world at driving games. He started playing them when I had a couple on the PC. I would be saying things like “this game cheats, I can’t finish anywhere except last” he comes along and gets first place every time!!

I have a couple of friends that Farrah speaks to online which is good as a couple of times she has asked me to go out while she talks to one of them.

XBOX’s are the better ones, but the PS3 has the 3D Blu-Ray

            • LOL Kes sounds like Jack….always in first place. He can give me a one minute head start and still come in first 😛 I think the kids would like an Xbox…though most of our games are for the ps2 or 3…or Wii. Our ps3 has blue ray, but not 3D. I just love when get to play games together…a most cherished time!!

I think it’s really awesome that you play games with your kids…I know from my eldest those are some of her fondest memories from when she was younger…and her and I still play!! 🙂

            • For the last week, my daughter was at her mum’s house, so Kes and I played Halo: Reach for a few of the days, completing it in two days. He has asked we complete one of the other games which I told him we will do before they go back to school in September.

I think playing games with the kids, either console or board games is important is gets you to make them feel wanted, special.

            • That is just so awesome, and special for both you and them!! I think they love it because they get to share something they love (and have fun at) with you.

              Just so very cool! 🙂

  6. Aha! This is a beautiful and talented piece of work Mondrak. I am so very proud of you for hitting the ol publish button. I had that same problem with Christina. The two of you have so much raw and pure and wonderful talent. It is a pleasure to see it coming out from within! You make me so happy!

      • I don’t know if you’re still up, still working out the time thingy over here in northwestern USA, I had a few real time errands to run, got back just a bit ago, Just so you know it is a pleasure for me to say something I really mean. When I was in the marketing/advertising world I had to critique both potential writers and artists. When the people in offices near mine heard me say “Oh how very interesting” they’d all rush in to see what I was viewing or reading. That was ‘Penny language’ for I probably didn’t care for what I was viewing! But I always tried to be nice about my comments. When I really liked something everyone knew that too because I made a big deal out of it, just couldn’t help myself. So consider yourself as being made a big deal out of! Your do have talent, Mondrak, most sincerely a pure pleasure! 🙂
