A MEME

One of the bloggers I follow (Blue Jellybeans) has posted a meme of 20 questions, so I have decided that I will do the same thing 🙂

1. When you were a child what was the hardest or scariest thing in the world (i.e. movie, book, chore, etc.) to you that as an adult is neither hard nor scary?

I think The Dark by James Herbert. When I read it as a kid when it was first released, I ended up for a couple of weeks having to sleep with the light on as I was too scared to sleep with it off in case the dark affected me.

 2. If you were offered the chance to be a cooking star on a Food Network show, which of these three would you choose for a mentor: Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsey or Ainsley Harriot?

I think Ainsley as he’s a complete nutter. Although I do like Gordon’s no-nonsense style. Jamie, although my son’s favourite, is not to my taste.

3. What is your favorite theme offered by your blogging platform that you are not using and what theme do you absolutely hate? Provide links to both along with your explanation.

It’s difficult to choose. I have gone through the choices just recently, and I like some of the premium ones. I do not like the ones that are one column or that don’t have a custom header. I do quite like the one I have at the moment though.

4. Who is someone from your past that you are sorry you lost track of?

This one is very odd. For years, I have been wanting to get back in touch with someone I lost contact with in 1978 when I left primary school. Then recently, I was in a café and this woman asked me if I was who I am, and when I replied I was, she said her name and it was her!!!

 5. What would you take to a deserted island?

A boat and Liv Tyler.

6. If you could get into the mind of anyone (living or dead) and read all their thoughts, whose mind would you choose to raid?

My son. He has Asperger’s Syndrome and I would absolutely love to see how his brain works and what he sees. It all seems so different to what “neurotypical” people see and think.

 7. What are the entire contents of the top drawer of the table directly next to your side of the bed?

Haha boxer shorts lol

 8. What is the one thing you have in your dorm, apartment, or house that you never want your parents to find?

A particular book. I have no idea how it came to be in my possession. It is definitely not something I would read, but I can’t get rid of it as no bookshop would take it, and I definitely could not give it to a charity shop. It is The Training Grounds by Sarah Veitch. I read a little bit of it, and thought “woah! shit!” I am no prude, but that book goes above and beyond porn. I have no idea if there is a plot as I never read any more of it.

9. Your daughter is having a sleepover for her 12th birthday. Around 8:00 pm a thunderstorm knocks out power. How do you entertain twelve pre-teen girls when all the mobile phone batteries have died?

My daughter has just turned 14, so this should be an easy one for me. I would get them to have a singing competition, or maybe stories.

10. What aspect/trait about your personality are you most sensitive about (as in, you wouldn’t stand anyone criticizing about this one aspect)?

My parenting.

11. A Blogger has had two previous virtual nude dinner parties. He is now inviting you, his blogger friends to his home for a real nude dinner party. This is not a virtual dinner party; it is the real thing with all expenses paid and the usual five course dinner prepared by him. Will you or will you not be present at said nude party?

No I definitely would not. I am very conscious about my body.

12. What one piece of movie memorabilia from which movie would you love to own?

A lightsaber.

13. If literary characters were real and you could interview any one of them, who would it be and what’s the first question you would ask?

Yoda, and “Why do you speak like that??”

14. If you had to choose a theme song for yourself from only the Classical genre, which song would it be?

I don’t know. I really haven’t listened to much classical music. The only ones I really remember are 1812 Overture, Holst’s Mars the Bringer of War, and Beethoven’s 5th. So it would probably be one of them.

15. What is your most quirky habits?

Pulling faces in a tourrette’s kind of way 😦

16. When was the last time you took the time to act like a child and what did you do?

A couple of days ago. Because we had lost our cat, my kids were upset, so I brought three disk guns and we were shooting each other with them 🙂

17. If there was ever a past relationship, (friend or otherwise), that you could go back and mend, would you? Who would it be with, and why?

No. Each relationship has ended for a reason, and that ending started a new part of my life. There is a relationship, that if I could, I would go back and not start it … but alas even that has a reason – which is to say that relationships and me will not work.

18. What would you do if all of your followers left comments daily and would be it be too much for you to handle? Would you hire someone to answer comments for you?

No it would not be too much to handle, and I definitely would not allow anyone else to handle them for me. I answer all comments myself.

19. Do you know how far back your ancestry goes on either side of your family tree? How far?

I have been doing my family tree, and on one side, I can go back as far as the 1700’s at the moment, but on the other side, I can only go back as far as my father’s father.

20. If you could compare yourself to anything in the universe, what would you compare yourself to? Why?

I don’t know, maybe a doormat?

Do you want to share your thoughts?
