Furious….

I don’t often get annoyed with companies, but today I did. I received an email yesterday from Interlink Express stating that I was having a parcel delivered today. However, my daughter had to go and have her brace adjusted this morning, so I confirmed with their date changer to alter the delivery to Thursday 21st June. I received an email confirming that this had been done and the new delivery date was now Thursday 21st June 2012.

When I arrived home today, I found a note stating that my parcel had been left with a neighbour. One that I have never met! So I phoned the company, and I will say, I was slightly vexed but would accept an apology from them if they offered it. No, they did not offer me an apology, in fact, they told me that even if you do change the date, they will still send it out on that day and attempt to leave it with a neighbour. So basically telling me, that even if I do request a date change, it will make no difference whatsoever as they will ignore it.

The supervisor told me that the driver had no information on the date change, so I asked her what happened to the result of the email that I had delivered at 17:30 last night. All she kept saying was “the driver scanned the parcel and there was nothing there to say anything”. Three times she said this, and (embarrassing as it is to say it) I got annoyed, told her it was a sh*t company and hung up.

I am now about to write a letter of complaint to the head of the franchise it was delivered from, the main company office (if I can find it) and the company I purchased the item from. And I will go and see this neighbour and hope that they are a decent sort and not kept it, denying it was ever delivered. As you can see, I have a lot of trust in people I don’t know.

  1. UGH!!! I was cs manager at a online gifting company for a while and let me tell you, dealing with delivery companies from the other end is just as frustrating. The company paying to send the gift is supposed to have more pull with the delivery service but, yeah right! They blew smoke up our hinney’s just as much as they do the recipient. Did you end up getting your package from your neighbor???

    • I did eventually. But it was about six hours after I arrived home, and several attempts at knocking. The neighbour opened the door and said “I take it you are after this” gave me the parcel and shut the door.

        • Haha yeah. Got an email from their head office asking for details, so I emailed them a copy of the letter. They were not happy and said they were taking it straight to their marketing manager.

  2. I can relate to that frustration. I had a TV satellite company take $450 out of my account that it wasn’t owed, and they refused to return MY money that they basically STOLE for two months, saying it took several weeks for the money to be processed and returned. What a crock!
